Age UK – Love Later Life

Despite the fabulous work that they do, we have been surprised by how many people do not seem to know much about Age UK

Age UK was formed in 2009 by combining the operations of Help the Aged and Age Concern.

The Age UK network includes more than 130 local Age UKs throughout England as well as Age ScotlandAge Cymru and Age NI.

You can find your local point of contact at https://www.ageuk.org.uk/services/in-your-area/

We have called Age UK several times to ask questions and we have always found them incredibly friendly and helpful – and if they themselves can’t help they will definitely help get you to the right place.

So if you need help or are just feeling lonely do call their ADVICE LINE on 0800 678 1602

The services that they offer depend on where you live but can include –

. Home help

. Foot care

. Handyperson services

. Exercise classes

. IT Training

. Door-to-door transport services

. Dementia Support

. Help with shopping and prescription pick-up

And please also consider donating to support their important work – https://donate.ageuk.org.uk/public/donatecc.aspx?content=ianda_May2017
