Sometimes it takes an outsider to point out how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful country.
Here, Rick Steves takes us on a trip around some of the sights in “England’s Heartland”, including Cambridge, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Ironbridge.
Rick Steves – travel presenter
Rick Steves is one of America’s most respected travel writers and presenters.
He particularly focuses on Europe and we love his informative and uplifting presentations and the way he sees things from a different perspective.
For example, this is the advice he gives his 924,000 followers as he approaches Ironbridge Gorge –
“Leaving the motorway, we Dosey Doe our way through a series of roundabouts. Britain’s roundabouts are fun – once you understand them. Try to merge without stopping but always yield to drivers already in the circle. And relax. If necessary, give yourself a free exploratory loop to make sure you have the right exit.”
Thank you Rick!

Fun fact!
My grandparents met when they were at Cambridge in the early 1950s.
This is them in a punt in about 1952.
