We are delighted to mark Tom Jones’ 80th Birthday this month – a truly uplifting and inspiring “silver surfer”!
Sir Tom is one of our great British icons. He grew up in Pontypridd and would probably have worked in the mines had he not suffered tuberculosis at the age of 12 and been confined to bed for most of 2 years.
He married Linda at the age of 16 and they were together for 59 years until her passing in 2016.
5 Decades of International Success
Sir Tom has enjoyed international success over the past 50 years, with hits including “It’s Not Unusual,” “Green Green Grass of Home,” “Delilah,” “Till” and “A Boy From Nowhere.”
His performance outside Buckingham Palace was one of the highlights of Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012 (see below the Voice tribute).
Sir Tom loves singing and has no intention of stopping any time soon, saying only a few weeks’ ago : ‘I want to do it as long as there is a breath in my body’

Fun fact!
Sir Tom’s real name is Sir Thomas John Woodward OBE
