Buckingham Palace Garden Parties

Each summer Buckingham Palace holds three garden parties for about 8000 people each. The Queen and other members of the royal family attend and mingle with guests. At each party around 27,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches and 20,000 slices of cake are consumed. Gentlemen wear morning dress and women wear a dress or suit and a hat. If your invitation has not arrived yet, enjoy this virtual attendance!

I am sure it is probably totally against protocol but I found this video of a Garden Party that was posted by two friends, Wyburn and Wayne.

Presumably if they get caught they may be seeing a lot more of the Beefeaters!

  1. What fun to see this! I was fortunate to attend a Queen’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in either ’82 or ’83. No cell phones back then to capture the memory so enjoyed having a glimpse again.
